What Is Sedation Dentistry?
At a Sedation Dentistry, sedation is not the same as being put to sleep for treatment. Instead, sedation is normally done through oral medication or intravenous (IV) injection to push sedatives into the bloodstream. This treatment allows the dentists to perform bigger, longer procedures as well as allowing the patients to become more relaxed. Because coming to the dentist can be a nerve-racking experience for many, sedation can be the perfect treatment option to reduce anxiety and offer a safer procedural environment.

What Happens During Sedation?
During Sedation, the patient is medicated through either oral medication or through an intravenous (IV) method to safely medicate for the procedure, and the patient is always conscious. During treatment, the patient is thoroughly monitored for changes in blood pressure and other important vitals making sedation dentistry an extremely safe treatment option.
